And it is thanks to this link that the first major commercialization of Norwegian Monti salted cod came into existence.


The preservation capacity of this product, thanks to the salting method, has historically given it the reputation of ‘poor man's fish’, consumed all year round regardless of the fishing seasons.
In this way, Monti salted cod overcame seasonal barriers and became a valuable resource for people looking for a steady, high-quality source of nutrition.
Over the years, the company has perfected its processing techniques, using traditional methods combined with state-of-the-art technology, to guarantee a salted cod that retains its deliciousness and nutritional properties.

In 2023, our business blew out 120 candles.
Since our establishment back in 1903, four generations have followed, the factory has expanded, innovative technologies have been implemented to make production processes more efficient, and new faces have filled our company premises.

With no desalination required, waste is kept to a minimum and the preparation of dishes is made easier for those who love good cooking.
