At the Root of Sustainability are Conscious Choices

Cod is at the heart of what we do at Monti and its origin is our starting point for sustainability.

We recognise that transparency and accuracy of information are essential for consumers to make informed choices.

This is why we strive to ensure the highest quality and completeness of information for the labels and packaging of our products, strictly complying with current regulations.

‘Clean Label’ approach

Our Clean Label approach means that our fish is caught and processed without the inclusion of additives or preservatives.

This ensures that each piece of cod retains its purity and authenticity, fulfilling both our commitment to quality and environmental sustainability.

HACCP self-monitoring

Talking about the origin of fish, we cannot fail to mention the food safety of our products, a truly crucial element of our commitment.

We strictly follow the HACCP self-monitoring plan, a system designed to identify and manage food safety risks.

This plan allows us to accurately monitor all critical points in the process, ensuring that our products are safe for consumption, from the moment they are processed until they reach your table.

Intermodal transport:
the road to a greener future

Our products do not only travel by road; they follow an intermodal transport route from Norway to our factory.

Transport begins with the transfer of containers by rail, which not only reduces the environmental impact but also allows a better utilisation of transport capacity (+15%) compared to traditional road transport.

This approach offers several ecological advantages.

Not only does it reduce greenhouse gas emissions, it also helps to drastically reduce energy losses and road traffic.

It is a key part of our commitment to limit the impact of our logistics operations on the planet and ensure a more sustainable future for generations to come.
